Finger Yoga

Yoga is an activity in which a person focuses his whole mind the five senses and the body as a whole. Yoga is a form of way that helps us to control, organize, concentrate and harmonize our body, soul and mind. Unfortunately, not all of us could afford the time to practice yoga but, lucky us, there is a form of yoga that can be done with only our fingers, even in the most hectic of times. Now who would’ve thought the greatest secret in yoga is at the tip of your fingers- literally. 
1. Gyan Mudra or the Mudra of Knowledge
Touch the tip of your index finger with the tip of your thumb and keep straight or free the other three fingers. The pose is usually used during meditations, and as the name suggests, this mudra helps in increasing our minds’ concentration and brain power. It’s also known to help with insomnia, stress and depression.

2. Prithvi Mudra or Mudra of Earth
Press the tip of your thumb using the tip of your ring finger and keep the other three fingers straight up. This mudra is best practiced in the morning; however you can do this anytime of the day. This mudra helps to promote weight loss and keep your body fit aside from bringing the natural glow to your skin and overcome stress. 

3. Varun Mudra or Mudra of Water
Formed by joining the tip of your little finger with the tip of your tongue, this mudra helps to balance the water content in the body. Problems regarding indigestion and dryness of skin can also be treated with this mudra.

4. Vayu Mudra or Mudra of Air
Place your index finger under your thumb and keep the three remaining fingers straight up. This mudra can be practiced with standing, sitting or sleeping positions. Always remember not to practice this mudra on an empty stomach. This mudra is usually done for 45 minutes to reduce the risk of disease in 12 to 24 hours, and best to be continued for 2 months. Vayu Mudra helps to minimize rheumatic complaints, arthritis, gout and numbness.

5. Shunya Mudra or Mudra of Emptiness
Press your middle finger at the mount of Venus using your thumb. Continue doing this mudra for 40-60 minutes to recover from illness.This mudra is known to eliminate pains in ears within 5 minutes and increase vitality.

6. Surya Mudra or Mudra of the Sun
Bend your ring finger and press it with your thumb. Do this twice a day for 5-15 minutes.Helps reduce cholesterol levels and trim fat in the body. It’s also useful when it comes to getting rid of anxiety and confusion and cure digestive problems.

7. Pran Mudra or the Mudra of Life
Bend your ring finger and little finger and touch the tip of both these fingers with your thumb. The mudra can be done at any time of the day and best accompanied along with padmasana. This is a very important mudra as it can help improve our bodies’ immunity against diseases and increase our eye strengths as well as reduce any eye related diseases.
